New Student Advising Sessions

NOTE: Running Start and Fresh Start students have their own orientations. If you are in either of these programs, please contact them to find out about their orientation times: Running Start (253.566.6061), Fresh Start (253.566.5086).

Congratulations! We welcome you to Tacoma Community College as a new student!

So far you should have:

  1. Completed the admission application
  2. Got your ctcLink student ID number and activated your account
  3. Completed your online New Student Orientation
  4. Set up your TCC student email account
  5. Email any previous college transcripts (unofficial transcripts ok to send) to placement@tacomacc.edu for review
  6. Got your English and math placement completed

You are almost ready to enroll in classes! Take a look at your next steps below.

Attend a New Student Advising Session

All new to Tacoma Community College, degree-seeking students must complete NSO online and attend a New Student Advising session.  Attending an New Student Advising session will take your advising hold off your account so you can register for classes.  During the New Student Advising sessions, you can meet with an Academic Advisor.  Advisors will assist with the following:

  • ctcLink questions and how to register
  • First quarter class selection
  • Resources to help you succeed
  • Exploring classes and pathways

If all New Student Group Advising sessions are full, new and returning students (out of attendance for one year or more) should complete the six admissions steps above. Once those are completed, new/returning students should access Drop-in Advising at the Advising Center. Academic Advising Hours can be found here. Advisors will be available to assist with first quarter class selection and how to register for classes.
