Windows 10 and Office 2016

Hello Titans,

Just a quick reminder about Windows 10 and Office 2016 – new for Fall Quarter!

For the past 18 months your Information Technology department has been hard at work testing and deploying Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016.  For Fall Quarter you will find that all instructional use computers (including those in the Information Commons, Library, classrooms and open labs) have been updated to this standard.  All new employee-use computers, and PCs that require major maintenance, will feature the new standard.  Upon request we will be able to update office computers, based upon available resources.

In the upcoming weeks and months the Information Technology department, in conjunction with eLearning and the Office for Organizational Learning and Effectiveness, will be offering training opportunities and self-help guides. In the meantime, please contact us via our ticketing system or telephone helpline (460-4357) if you need assistance.  We will collect questions and concerns and consider this feedback as we tailor our offerings.  Your suggestions and insights are greatly appreciated!

We wish to express our gratitude to the 95+ staff and faculty members who have helped us with this complex project.  Both the Library, and eLearning, have been instrumental in testing and providing feedback gathered from students.  Many Faculty volunteered to be early adopters, and took the time to test departmental-specific software to ensure it would continue to function within the new operating system.  Troy Peterson educated us to new features, and verified our existing accessibility tools.  We were pleased to work with many departments in terms of transition timing – ensuring that we maintained security and a modern operating system environment, while being respectful of teaching materials, programming, and course progression.  Finally, thanks to the members of the ATC (Academic Technology Committee) for providing guidance, and serving as the voice of a comprehensive list of campus stakeholders.
